Global Biodiversity Framework – Early Action Support Project

Overview

The Eswatini Global Biodiversity Framework Early Action Support (GBF-EAS) project is being executed by the Eswatini National Trust Commission (ENTC) with implementation support from the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Global Environment Facility (GEF). The project aims to provide financial and technical support for the country’s readiness and early actions for the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. GBF-EAS project is implementing the following components:

1. Rapid review of NBSAP for alignment with the post-2020 GBF and updating national biodiversity targets
2. Assessment of monitoring systems.
3. Policy and institutional alignment and review of policies for coherence with the GBF; and
4. Biodiversity finance.
